Hi, I have just refurbed my bathroom with the addittion of a smart new heated towel rail connected to my gravity fed central heating system.
After installation and re-filling the system all seemed fine, but the next evening the top half of the towel rail was cold! I thought it was just air finding it's way round the system and getting to the highest point.
With the heating fired up I could not remove any air! I actually un-screwed the bleed vent assembly from the top of the rad, I then proceeded to pour 4 kettles full of water into to hole, as soon as I filled it up it was dissaparing! I had no leaks yet this new towel rail was drinking water like a fish!
Upon further investigation into the loft, I found that the boiler header tank was back filling from the boiler fill fed pipe?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
