Hi all,

Hoping for some advice.

Old Apollo Myson boiler in house I moved into last year.

Four out of six rads replaced last year in rooms being decorated.

All rads worked perfectly previously, new ones are all fine (apart from one which I keep having to bleed every couple of weeks!)

Hot water heating still works, but central heating has stopped.

Bled all radiators, all were ok apart from the usual trouble one (only needed a short bleed to get the air out (10 seconds)).
Still no heating.
Then noticed that one of the radiators upstairs had a VERY hot inlet pipe, was warm up the side an along the top, but goin back down the side towards the adjustable valve went cold - whole rad is warm at top and cold at bottom.

Any ideas what is causing this, and could this be why my central heating is not firing?

Like I said, boiler fires fine for hot water, but won't fire for heating!

Thanks all.

Sounds like 'no flow' and rad cold at the bottom is a classic sign of blockage, probably by years of sludge. Remove rad, flush out sludge and replace.
