Hi, I've just moved into a new house and I'd like to find out what this grey box thing with a knob with three red lines on it is, that is fitted under the sink (make and model if possible). There is a dish washer to the left.
. It is plugged into mains socket - I'm not sure if it is a water softener (I'm intending fitting a salt based one when I get round to it). Many Thanks

I'm going to be taking out the dish washer which is only a 3/4 job and really no use to me. I'll use the space for the water softener, as there isn't room under the sink as it is.
