Help New Ceiling Rose

Can anyone please help this new member?
I have two lights on my hall landing both of which can be switched on/off from upstairs and downstairs. I have had to replace one of the ceiling roses as it was faulty and have just reconnected to find that only one of the lights now operate. I have old style wiring which consists of one cable with a black,red and brown wire and another with a black wire. The new Rose has 2 live blocks,3 loop blocks and 3 neutral blocks. Can anyone out there please help this frustrated member?
