Help to eliminate the 'Mr Men'

A few years ago I painted a fab 'Mr Men' mural on my kids bedroom wall....lots of the colours are very bold/dark...he has now sadly grown out of the 'Mr Men' and I now want to paint over a new (and 'lighter') theme...is there any paint out there specifically for quick coverage of dark colours so the 'Men' wont show through!!!! I don't fancy doing more than a couple of coats of what is a large room (and I'm rubbish at papering!!).

You could try painting it with PVA prior to emulsion.
