Got a 4 yr old condenser dryer which has decided to melt! Melted the electricity supply cable due to the het as well as the fan and even scorched the wall behind the appliance. check it out!!!! Any point phoning an engineer out or has this dryer dried its las load??????

If the fuse rating is correct in the plug, I am surprised that it was allowed for the cable to melt under fault conditions.
I guess you no longer have any cover on the appliance?
I could be that a lot of internal components have also been damaged, I would consider buying new. But I would still want to talk to the manufacturers about this, as it should not happen!

Plug socket was right beside machine so cable was squashed between wall and appliance. The heat generated by the back panel of the appliance obviously burnt through the plastic. The smoke coming from drum was the most concerning thing, if no-one had been in the house it could've been nasty. Fuse hasn't been changed since purchase.
