Hi all. Looking for abit of clarity. Ive created a perch in the front garden using recycled wardrobe doors however I dont know what the best option would be to weather protect it. Thats if assuming the wood will even last outside. Im not familar with different woods however know harm in trying. Ive uploaded 2 pictures. Someone out there will know the type of wood it is. I know there solid panels and quite heavy. Possibly MDF but dont have a clue. Would love some help on this and best way to stain from white to a oak look. Looks like contiplas to me (plastic veneer faced chipboard)

FYI - don't even bother trying to protect chipboard as it will last about 2 minutes after the first bit of wet weather.

Chipboard expands when wet and will rapidly disintegrate in outside conditions.

Even if you could protect it from rain, the damp will get to it and have the same effect.
