Hiya guys

Still trying to get my head around this whole quoting thing, everytime I do it, I get different answers lol,, so can I post it here and see if someone can help :D

Job is 7 meteres up 5 Meters across = 35 m2

Felt Needed - 1.5m x 50m roll = 25m2 needed?

Slates are 14x8 welsh (14-3 = 11) /2 = 5.5 Gauge

Slates needed + 10% 1848 @ .80p each = 1478.40

Labour - 1 Tradesman @ £8.50 and 1 Labourer @ 5.00 = 13.50 p/h

Here goes lol

Take delivery and unload / stack slates - 30mins @ £ 6.75 (13.50 / 2)

Breathable Felt 50m x 1.5 - £99.99
Needed 25m2 (99.99 / £3.99)
Cost of felt per m2 - £3.99?

Slate - 1848 / 35m2 - 52.8 - rounded to 53 slates per m2?
Trade & Labourer lays 3m2 per hour = 159 per slates per hour

Trade & Labourer cost per m2 - £4.49 (35m2 / 3m2 per hour * £13.50)

Total cost per m2 is £50.88?

or am I way off line lol

Keep it simple, forget about how much per meter, how long will the job take you?(not this job a hypothetical job)lets say 5 days for example. How much do you want for 5 days work?lets say you want £200 per day, thats a grand for your whack, add you mates whack onto that(laborour) £100 per day=£500 so you want £1500 and cost of gear(get the punter to pay for that, its a foreigner).Keep it simple for now, forget about price per sq meter.

Hiya guys

Cheers for the comments, on average we can hit 1128 slates per day
depending on slate quality etc

I based the "quote" on a pretend job, just to see if I could work it out.. Not sure if I'm in the area area or not tho, I just assume thats how it would be worked out, probs wrong lol

The quotes been based on 13.50, as this is what we get paid and it was a small number to play with.

Obvisouly when I price for jobs on the side (Pirating) :D I charge 18 per hour for myself and £8 for the apprentice

My boss charges 25.00 for me and 15 for the apprentice

So can anyone say if I'm close to how to work out for m2?

Why not use these prices?

if you can bang on 1100 slates a day your worth double that!!! thats about under a minute a slate not stop eight hours...
