My kitchen fitter has attemped his first butt & scribed joint on my worktop and it isn't flush. I have been reading up on here about how to get a nice flush finish but my question is:

How do I undo it to redo it? the bolts are easy enough to remove but the joint has been glued with pva wood glue, will it come apart easily enough??

Please help, I just want my kitchen back now!

Curly :(

PVA Glue is not a strong glue and should not pose a real problem, after removing the bolts have someone hold one W/T down while you maneuver the other as you do this the joint should come apart. I would add be gentle as the glue may pull out end grain from each of the W/T's and will need cleaning off before attempting to re-glue.

I have not done this for a lot of years so wait for other advice before attempting. Someone else may have done this more recent and have better advice.

P.S I would not attempt this unless you have excess W/Top.

If your kitchen fitter has messed up the join then surely he should be putting it right. Ask him to redo it and if it needs new worktop then it should be down to him to bear the cost.
