When drilling a hole and it isn't quite in the right place, what is the best way to correct this ?
I've drilled into masonry with a 6mm drill , plugged it and when I offer up the shower screen it is about 0.5 cm too high.

How can I correct this without simply pulling out plug and re-filling and then re-drilling a new hole !

The simplest solution would be to drill a new hole through the shower screen rail (assuming that it will be hidden when the screen is mounted). If not then fill and re drill.

Yeah - I could - but time isn't an issue so I re-filled anyway.
Another option would be to drill out hole and use bigger plug and hope it shifts correctly and lines up better :)

As already said the fix is to fill, and then drill a hole in the right place.
I usually mark the wall carefully from the fixing hole in whatever is being put up, and then put a pencil cross centred on the hole. You can then see if the drill is wandering off the centre. If the mark is a problem on the wall use masking tape. Use a decent quality, sharp masonry bit, and let the drill (of whatever type) do the work. Don't try to force it.
