Planning to make a home gym cable machine.
Anyone built one?
Tips, advice and recommendations please.
It has to accommodate triceps and bicep as on the "drawing".
I see the issue with the required cable length being different for each option.
Load up to 30kg - bucket with sandbags - yeah, low budget.

If this works fine, I would go for a second set to allow for the butterfly chest exercise.

Timber frame of 2x4's as I have some lying about.
Would B&Q cheapo 2x3's be alright instead as I have them too?
Staple plates fixed to timber.
Carabiner clips to allow for a quick switch of anchor point.

Swivel pulleys as here:

Coated steel rope as here:

i am tempted to get 4mm wire from toolstation.

no idea how long it would last?
wire travel distance is ~70cm.
15 sets of ~10 reps, 3 times per week.
if the £6 "cable" would last 1 month, that is already cheaper than the gym, which is closed/unusable for the last 7 months anyway...

I made my own pull down machine years ago . hung it off brackets and brass rollers from the garage roof . 9x3
