I’ve recently removed a Honeywell BDR91 wireless receiver and controller and installed a Hive dual channel receiver in its place. The Hive is now hardwired using the existing backplate, with connections to Live, Neutral, Earth, and the three switched terminals 1, 3 and 4 for central heating and hot water.
System details:
- Boiler: Worcester Bosch Greenstar 24ri (heat-only)
- Control setup: Y-Plan with 3-port valve
- Wiring center: Standard 10-port junction box
- New controller: Hive dual channel receiver & thermostat.
What’s been done:
- BDR91 faceplate removed
- Hive receiver installed and powered
Only the hot water appears to respond correctly from the Hive unit
What I need help with:
I’m now reviewing the junction box wiring to ensure it’s correctly configured for the Hive’s dual outputs.
Removing the BDR91 faceplate has effectively left a gap to controll the heating somewhere.
Any help greatly appreciated!
EDIT:
Reconnected TERMINAL 4 from HIVE backbox (Originally connected to black cable A on BDR91 receiver backbox),
to:
WHITE cable on 3 way-valve.!!
JOB DONE - Hive now fully rerouted for both CH & HW
