Ok so the old thermostat has 4 terminals as follows:
1: Blue
2:Red
3: not connected
4:yellow
+ bare copper wire bent to the left of the terminals.
I have just bought a Honeywell DT90E requiring only two wires.........what goes where?
Thanks in advance

Disconnec the blue back at terminal box or safely at stat position .
red to A yellow to B on new stat

Are you sure about the terminal numbers ? or have you numbered them 1 to 4?

The terminals on the old thermostat run from top to bottom so I have numbered accordingly.

Have just seen that in the old thermostat the terminals are numbered (from top to bottom)
Terminal 2: Blue
Terminal 1: Red
Terminal 4: Empty
Terminal 3: Yellow
Earth left loose
Hope this makes sense.
New thermostat terminals lettered A, B & C (from left to right)

Thanks again in advance

That's saved me asking if the terminals were numbered on the stat. ;)

OK you connect the red to Terminal A and the yellow to terminal B. Terminal C is not used (it's for cooling systems)

The blue and earth wires should be made safe by wrapping insulating tape round each one separately.
