Hoover Al 130 pump problem

I have just replaced the pump on a Hoover Al 130 washing machine, The previous one had melted. The new one does not work. It looks like there might be some scorching on the circuit board. Could this have been caused when connecting the new pump (I suppose I could have swithched L&N but don't know as I have since reconnected) or is it likely to have happened while the old pump was overheating? Is it worth getting a new control board.

yes pump blew pcb, try and source one recon if poss try hoover for one they might repair the mc for a set amount or try here.http://www.emwelec.co.uk/index.php?action=search
