Hot Shower Water

I have fitted a mains fed mixer shower fed through a Worcester Greenstar HE plus combi boiler.
On the bumf that came with the shower it says a 6:1 mix of cold to hot water is needed , but the water that comes out of the shower is scalding hot,
Would fitting a Water Pressure Equalising Valve solve this problem ?
