shower head mixer on bath

I have a mixer on the bath with a shower head,the temperature is extremly difficult to control. Hot water is gravity fed Cold water is mains fed,I believe this might be due to the presure difference,would a pressure reducing valve solve this problem. or a pressure equalising valve. Or is there another solution.

yes you need to bring your mains cold down to the gravity hot pressure.

The other alternative is to run the cold feed for the mixer from the cold water storage tank instead of the rising main.
