This feels like such an easy question I feel bad having to ask, but the hot tap on our kitchen sink has been getting stiffer and stiffer the last few months, and the amount of water that comes out less and less when we do turn it on full. When the water runs and gets fully hot, it's almost down to a dribble.

What needs to be done here - is it just some washer or similar that needs replacing?

Thankyou.

is this a tap with a capstan on top that screws up and down? If so the jumper has probably come loose. Look up "how to rewasher a tap" then turn off the water and take the tap apart per the instructions. You will probably find a part that has come unscrewed, and it will be easy to spot when you take the tap apart. Tighten it an extra half-turn when you put it together.

You will need two large adjustable wrenches, and some rags and Elastoplast strapping to protect the chrome on the tap.

Some screws in a tap are left-handed to prevent them coming undone.

I think so, it's just a regular looking tap like this. Sounds like an easy/cheap job, good to know - thanks!
