I have just moved into a house with a combi boiler and therefore am new to combi's. My hot water inlet hose on the washing machine just burst, apparently due to water tempertaure and pressure......machine was previously on a header tank NOT mains pressure.

Are there high pressure hoses for washing machines, or am I missing something ?????

Surely it burst because it was faulty?

I believe that all washing m/c hoses are designed for mains pressure, therefore they will also withstand the hot water pressure through a combi.

However, you might want to consider not supplying hot to the machine, and just letting it heat up the water that it needs. You can do this with an inexpensive 'Y' adaptor. You'll still need a new hose though.

What make of combi do you have? Once upon a time all combi's had a small pressure vessel about 160ml to absorb pressure fluctuations and expansion in the HW line. I note that some now require these to be fitted externally.
So while I agree that the hose was faulty the absence of this PV could have accelerated its demise
