Guys

My condo is empty right now. No one living there. The hot water heater heats up but i go back the next day and the trip switch on the device has triggered. I then have to reset it for it to heat back up again. It only did this once whilst I was living there and now i have moved out if happens every day.

My heater is the Bradford/White hydrojet

Anyone got any ideas ?

thanks

maybe the thermostat has failed and it is overheating

with people living there and using the hot water it might not get dangerously hot, but left to itself for long enough perhaps it overheats.

we use different kinds of water heater over here.

I suspect yours is unvented mains pressure, and because your pressures are much higher than ours, and your voltage much lower, we do not use the same systems.

Ours have an overheat button that is usualy resettable

also an overcurrent breaker

and sometimes an earth leakage breaker (water heaters are notorious for nuisance tripping as they age) what you might cause a Ground Fault interruptor

I don't know which of these is tripping on your device
