Hotmail Pictures

I have a friend who uses Hotmail. If I send them an email (I use OE) with an emoticon or other picture in it (using "Insert Picture" or pasting it, I can see it in my copy, but they can't see it

However if i use "Insert File Attachment" they can see the pic.

Is there a way of setting Hotmail so it shows Inserted Pictures in the same way that OE does?

I don't use Hotmail very often as most of my email are sent using Outlook.

Out of curiosity sent myself a picture using Outlook (Insert/Picture/from file).
When viewing with Hotmail could not see picture just grey blank area.
To correctly view the image I needed to tick the box marked something like "trust the sender". Could it be that your friend has not allowed your emails as trusted - some friend!!

Look at the top of the email above the addresses I get a bar that looks like this.

gotcha.

so you just click on "show content" in that warning bar.

(as long as it comes from somewhere trusted)
