hotpoint aquarius 454 1400 spin prewash light

Hi,

My hotpoint aquarius 454 1400 spin washing machine just in the middle of a wash started spewing a vast amount of water out from the detergent drawer, and the pre wash light keeps continually flashing.

I put the machine off and then back on, and tried a quick wash, the machine just filled 3/4 up with water then stopped.

I am at a complete loss, can anyone help??
