Hotpoint Aquarius door lock flashing

Washing machine just stopped working !

When I try and start a cycle the door lock clicks 6 times and then the light flashes red continuously.

Faulty lock ?
 
Check motor brushes poss worn , and wiring in door lock that burns out sometimes.
 
Yes. But it's only 2 bolts to remove motor then slides off
 
Got it off and checked the brushes ! Still a wee bit left but no give at all ! Had the washing machine for 6 years ! Bought new ones anyway to try !
