Hotpoint aquarius fdm550 despenser problem

Hi - The dispenser has stopped opening on any cycle. i've opened the front up but can't get to the dispenser because it is protected by polystyrene which doesn't seem to come off easily.

Any tips on how to fix the dispenser would be greatly appreciated by a novice DIY man! Really don't want to shell out to repair it!!

Polystyrene just pulls of it one piece. Dispenser needs replacing held on by 6 screws.
