hotpoint DF53 dish washer

i cant seem to stop the cycle on this machine of mine. It was on a 2 cycle, but seemed to be taking ages, when i opened it it was full of foam, apparenlt caused by washing liquid being in one of the residues of the bottle i put in. Does anyone know, A) how to get rid of all the foam, and B) how to end the cycle to start anew. I have tried turning it off for a couple of days and but this still did not help, as when i turned it back on it the cycle continued

So if you have been trying to stop this cycle for days, why not just let it finish ? (mine does the same) and you could have had the 'problem' over with ?

vinegar will kill stop the foam. about 1/2 a cup
