I've inherited a Hotpoint Ultima WT960 washer, but it's not working correctly so I'm wondering if it's worth mending or just scrapping. The machine fills, washes, and empties correctly, but never spins up to speed properly. When turning slowly it is very quiet, but starts making a squeaking noise from the back of the drum when it speeds up a little. Once it gets to squeaking speed, it doesn't go any faster. It also doesn't finish a spin cycle, but just continues to turn slowly until I cancel it. No error codes are being displayed.
After reading these forums, I've checked the following:

- Drum spins freely and quietly when turned by hand.
- Motor spins freely and quietly when turned by hand.
- I've removed and checked all drainage under the drum.
- I've checked the pressure sensor and pipe, both are clear.
- The drum doesn't seem to be loose or wobbly as far as I can tell.
- I've removed one of the paddles in the drum and there doesn't seem to be anything trapped at the bottom of the drum or around the heater.
- The belt is unobstructed and feels quite tight.
- I've checked all the electrical connectors I could locate.

Any other ideas? Many thanks in advance :)

Did you find any solution ?

exactly same issue here.
Noisey on last 2 minutes, then starts spinning, not stopping till hold cancel button.

pumps out ok, not blocked ..

Unfortunately not, think I'm going to give up on it. If it was just the slow spin or squeaking, I'd make the effort to get it fixed - but as it's both I'm concerned that repair bill would be more than the machine if worth :(
