Hotpoint WD420P power and option lights 1+2 flashing

Power light and optional modifiers 1 + 2 flashing continuously, won't allow me to start a wash or dry programme. 6 months old. HAve to wait until mid Jan before Hotpoint can send and engineer out. Any ideas ? Does it need to be re-set ? Thanks
