We have a Hotpoint WF430 washing machine that will not now complete most programmes. It stops with ON/OFF flashing rapidly and 'Reduce Creases' and 'Time Saver' indicators flashing (indicators 2 & 4). I would be grateful if someone could identify what it's trying to tell me.

Sounds like pump not turning - you may find that something has got stuck in the pump impellor, you'll have to remove pump (easy enough job) and check, if nothing and pumps spins freely change the pump motor.

The pump does work, because the machine empties but then stops prior to spinning. Setting it on a spin programme, it then spins fine as well. What is it detecting to make it stop?
