The heater on the washing machine stopped working and I replaced it.
After that the machine worked OK except the door lock light occasionally flashed but after pressing the door more firmly and pressing the start button the current cycle progressed and the machine completed its programme.
Now the door lock light is flashing after every step in the programme. At each stop pressing the start button ( now a number of times) will make the machine progress to its next step in the programme.
I've checked the wires coming from the red door lock ( 2 white and 1 black) which connect to the PCB. The wires and connectors have continity and are secure. With a meter across the 2 white wires the meter charges up as though a capacitor is across them.
Visually the PCB looks ok and mechanically the door lock seems to be working. Would be grateful for any ideas of what is wrong ??
