House built 1929 cavity wall

just found out my new house has a cavity wall I never knew about. Found it whilst chasing out and made a hole through it (2" Breeze block)

how unusual is it to have a cavity in a house this age ??

Pretty common. Cavity walls were around in some parts of the country before 1900.

I've owned two 1930's houses. one with a cavity wall, one solid.

My mate lives on the next street and has solid walls and his was built 3 years earlier we both thought this was unusual but obviously not
