Hello all,

Starting a thread to show my own home extension, having enjoyed reading many others experience.

A couple of before plans, these are after the first remodel which added patio doors downstairs and removed a wall in the kitchen.

Spent a fair few years updating the internals, but now fairly finished and was time to move upwards but after a look around, my partner and I decided that we would extend rather than move. Commence with the plan.

Having played around a lot with CAD, this is the current design. I am still playing slightly with internals but planning has been approved now for the external parts so no more changes there.

The plan is to extend out the rear with a 2 storey extension to add a bedroom, and then more kitchen dining space downstairs, with the much needed downstairs loo! and utility in a single storey side extension.

And if all goes to plan, it will hopefully look something like this.....(y)

You may have noticed a large outbuilding in the plan, for some reason I have decided that I want to build myself a workshop and am going to be undertaking most of the build myself, except the pour of the footings. On the main house I have the builders in, not that confident and I don't think the missus would let me. :D

To catch right up to date, the shed footings are in, but need some remedial work before I can start building on them but things are looking up.

On the extension front, the foundations are in, concrete poured and the first few blocks have just gone in. Service trench to bring power/water/data out to the workshop is complete and a side shoot to provide power to a future water feature, much to the disagreement of my partner. My pond has been sacrificed but I will hopefully still manage to build a nice water feature with a hidden reservoir.
