How’s Rachael from accounts getting on…..

It wasn't a manifesto promise.
They said it hundreds of thousands of times :ROFLMAO:

And this was in their manifesto

We want to end mass dependence on emergency food parcels, which is a moral scar on our society.

Yes, they never claimed they would close all food banks within a year. You made that up.
So this
"We want to end mass dependence on emergency food parcels, which is a moral scar on our society."
was just a slimy untrustworthy play on words then -- got it--

Just like you are doing with "never claimed they would close all food banks within a year. You made that up "
I never said that either -- did I
Are all left wing voters slimy.

Give it up, you've been caught out again.
Slimy - selective and doesn’t even say what you think it does. -- everyone can see what you did. You are known for it and you have done it hundreds of thousands of times.

You claimed they said they would close food banks, and because they haven't, after a year, you say the have broken an election promise.

Squirm and deflect all you like.

This was their manifesto promise
We want to end mass dependence on emergency food parcels , which is a moral scar on our society.
If you want to be slimy about it and stick to "emergency food parcels" then they have had over a year - how is that promise going. Given they said it was a "moral scar on our society" you would expect them to act fast on it. You dont seem too bothered about it and want to defend your labour from a position of "im alright jack"
Just as well others are not willing to ignore it like you are.

Inheritance tax disgusts me. As does CGT.

I get fed up with the 'you've done nothing to earn it' argument. e.g. a talking head on a tv prog yesterday said 'If someone buys a house for x and sells it for y years later and it's appreciated a lot in value, they've done absolutely nothing to gain that wealth. Therefore it's quite right it should be taxed.'

The same argument about people that hold S&S.

It makes me sick. And no, I'm not wealthy.
I’ve got no problem with inheritance tax - despite forking out a six figure sum when my Parents passed away.

The first £1M is tax free
The person (estate) paying the tax isn’t going to miss it
The person receiving the inheritance, never had it, so can’t miss it.
You get 60% of everything else.

I understand the depth of feeling about paying tax on money that may already have been taxed, but but double taxation happens all the time (paying VAT from income taxed earnings). What do we do instead? Other forms of wealth tax often require a payment whilst you’re alive & kicking.

My biggest problem with inheritance tax is that the super-rich can afford the advice to enable avoidance. Close the loop holes, up the threshold with inflation, and tax everything over £10M at 60%.

Yes, it was, very laudable

Strawman, and irrelevant.

slimy untrustworthy play on words

Like this, you mean:

Forridge today said that the small boats crisis is a "threat to public order".

And why is this slimy?

Because it is true. As is the Old Firm derby, a heatwave (people out till all hours, mixed with bbqs and beer, and general cantankerousness that prolonged hot weather brings to some). But he chooses to single out this particular reason. Weaponising it.
Fromage has given a green light to anyone wanting to kick off, using the reason excuse of "the boats, innit", without actually saying so.
Fromage hasn't actually said "Go out and kick off!", so can argue any disorder is nothing he can be held responsible for.

Bloke's made a career out of grifting, out of division.
You're his mate, only until he's secured your paw print on the ballot paper.
After that, you're just another mark, another mug.

Btw it isn't £1M tax free, for everyone and plenty of people not just wealthy people, have been able to dodge the tax.

Perhaps it would be fairer to make it 10% of everything, without the £1M exemption.

Its easy to come up with a version where you don't get taxed but others get taxed more.
