i have been having some building work done, a mate who was a spark years ago ( not upto date on his regs etc) has pointed out that you can touch my CU and the sink at the same time. He suggested that i should check this is o.k!

whats the regs on this?

Do you mean you can reach the unit if you are stretching with effort to reach it or is it behind the taps ?

Some guidance (not BS7671) says 300mm from the edge of sink to a socket outlet so similar could be adopted but it is only guidance.

you have to stretch mate. The cu is mounted against the ceiling. About 1.2 meters from the sink.

The kitchen has been moved to this room from another area. I was going to build a cubard around it also.

Just a little worried it may need to be moved.

That reminds me of this episode...

The first job I went out on with my new company 5 years ago was a lady who was complaining of shocks while in the bath.

Before we could stop her, she whipped off her slippers, leapt in the bath (which had a bit of water in) and grabbed hold of the pipe.

"See?" she exclaimed....
