my patio doors will soon be arriving,, so in advance id like to ask ,, is there a recomended distance that they must be fixed,, the opening is 11 inch made of brick and block with a cavity,,, can they be flush with the outside brick work ?? or is it advisable they be set back ??if so any advice

General rule of thumb is that the inner face of the frame is flush/level with the inner face of the outer brick skin

setting them flush with the brick face makes it hard to seal up, if it is a new extension i try and look at the existing house and match that if possible(better to do this before ordering regarding cill choice). usually as above, the inner side of the frame is level with the back of the outer brick making them set back 30mm.
