Hi

We have just had underfloor heating put in a room that is 6m by 6m. The screed went down on Friday and the builder has advised us to not use the heating for at least 6 weeks. We plan to put a wood floor over the top.

6 weeks sounds like a long time to let the screed dry fully. Is this standard practice as most online stuff says 7 to 21 days depending on what the screed is composed of?

Thanks.

Ask your screed supplier, but 4-6 weeks isn't unusual. You should ensure it's dry before you lay the wooden floor as well, or you'll end up with your wood absorbing the moisture, which will lead to sadness
