How much working space needed to build a wall?

Planning a single storey rear extension, semi-detached house, and my neighbour has a conservatory, not going right up to the boundary. If hes quite happy to allow access to his land, whats the closest it is realistic to build to his conservatory? Assume traditional lightweight block construction with render. Flat roof.

the further up you go - you will need scaffolding... so consider that in it too.

Ask whoever is going to render it. If it was brickwork you could build it overhand as little as 100mm from another wall.
