But it’s incredibly difficult to have any kind of sensible conversation with you on 90% of topics.

An undocumented illegal immigrant cannot file taxes because… they are undocumented.

It’s no different to a doasyoulikey doing your driveway for cash so he doesn’t have to declare it.

Arguing they contribute to tax revenue when they are dodging taxes that others pay is nonsense.

if it isnt going to effect them then no worries .
but it will affect you...the UK’s growth forecasts are likely to be downgraded and the tariffs could cost thousands of jobs and force the government to implement further spending cuts or tax rises in autumn.

Ah yes,'Project Fear' - wasn't that the Brexit Defence...how's that workin' for ya?

Research by the Centre for European Reform suggests the UK economy is 2.5% smaller than it would have been if Remain had won the referendum. Public finances fell by £26 billion a year. This amounts to £500 million a week and is growing.

An analysis conducted by NIESR colleagues, published in November 2023, suggested that UK business investment could have been about 12.4 per cent higher in 2023 if Brexit did not happen.

Brexit has not affected my day to day life in any way whatsoever , yep project fear

According to the news this morning ( today prog)

The UKs 10% tariff is the same rate as has been levied on some Australian protectorate island (s) that is not inhabited apart from penguins and seals :giggle: :giggle:

thasts because I dissect your endless logical fallacies

strawman, I never said tey filed taxes, |I said:"undocumented migrants paid almost $100b into the USA tax system last year"

are you going to admit those are not the same things?

It’s no different to a doasyoulikey doing your driveway for cash so he doesn’t have to declare it
It is totally different

you cant compare an undocumented worker with a legal citizen doing a job for cash

undocumented workers in the USA make up 4% of the workforce in the USA,

42% of USA farm workers in USA are undocumented.......they are clearly fundamental to the USA economy so they should be given citizenship so they can pay taxes, then they would get the proper pay rates and get benefits

I’m not remotely right wing
apart from being right wing on every single topic

by the way it wasnt an insult just factual:

Well would you look at that in the main he has only equalled the tariffs that countries have on US goods .

The average tariff on exports from the US to the EU is actually just over 1%. But Trump is claiming it is 39%.

Has anyone pointed out that the 'Reciprocal' taffifs Trump was referring to was a simple calculation of (exports-imports)/exports. Or in other words not tarrifs at all but just the balance of trade?

I can believe that. But do you have a source?

Seeing as we have all taken a 4.2% haircut to our personal finances due to brexit I wonder what you would have done with that extra cash that you peed up the wall on behalf of the rest of us.

Team Trump told him

gasboi believes everything Trump says
You mean this? Pmsl...

Tariffs aren't "charged" to the US, why doesn't someone put him right? Orange idiot...

Taiwan calls new US tariffs 'highly unreasonable'

The executive branch of Taiwan's government, the Cabinet, has called the 32% tariff imposed on its exports to the US "highly unreasonable" and "unfair" and said it would engage in stern negotiations with Washington.
"The tariff rate does not accurately reflect the actual Taiwan-US trade situation and is unfair to Taiwan," Cabinet spokeswoman Michelle Lee said in a statement.
She said Premier Cho Jung-tai had instructed the Office of Trade Negotiations to ask for an explanation from the US trade representative.
Taiwan, the US's seventh-largest trading partner, imposes a 64% tariff on US imports.
Lee said the tariffs imposed by Trump ignored the complementary nature of Taiwan-US trade, adding that a recent surge in exports from Taiwan to the US resulted from rising US demand for semiconductors and AI products.
In 2024, Taiwanese exports to the US rose by 32.5%.
