How to change uPVC window handles + tighten up dropped doors

Afternoon all

Mates just bought a new place + has got a few problems with the existing doors + a window handle. There not covered by any form of warranty so gonna have to sought them out ourselves.

- Both the front + rear doors have 'dropped' slightly......but how do u tighten them back up? On a traditional timber door u would put larger screws into the hinges. But this hinge doesn't make any sense......

- The stairs has a HUGE window on an intermediate landing, it acts as an fire escape 'door' also, want to change the window handle as he hasn't got a key for the existing window lock.

We're also changing the door locks, which are much more straight forward, but any advice on th above would be much appreciated. I don't know if there are many types of door + window handles, but we're struggling.

It really depends on what type of hinges are fitted, some will have what appears to be a normal aluminium hinge, sometimes in the trade called a mk1v, a few upvc doors will have what they call a composite hinge, these can be adjusted with an allan key. If you can email over a photo would be able to help. A word of warning, some frames on upvc door sets are reinforced with a plastic material and not aluminium or steel as used on slightly higher spec doors, if it is plastic reinforced it can be very difficult to rectify a dropped door, as the problem is not with the hinge but the reinforcing material, especially if the hinges have been removed in the past for whatever reason.
