How to dry out subfloor space after major water leak

Hi JobAndKnock - sounds exactly like what we have here :) (other side of the Pennines from you) It's been very useful having a poke around in the one existing cellar in the row - nice neighbours who don't mind me being nosy!

Regarding stopcocks - the internal one is right above where the leaky lead pipe was, but isn't controlled by the same stopcock on the street as the rest of the row. Now that the water's stopped pouring out, I'm much less stressed, and much more interested in picking apart how the place has changed in its 150 years.
