Hi there,

I’ve read through an older post but thought I would seek upto date guidance, in case it’s moved on

We’ve had this made and thought it would be quite straight forward to fix, ha, no such thing. The maker of it suggested drilling holes in chimney breast, squeeze in resin then pop on the shelf, sounds so easy! We have a recently skimmed and painted chimney breast, fools, and one of the rods on the picture is at around a 2-3mm angle.

any advice on the easiest way to fit please.

You can get rods that are offset as you tighten them. Drill and rawl plug the wall, hold the mantle up and mark the centres. Drill hole in mantle then offset slightly the rods fixed to the wall, push mantle on.

Thanks for your advice but our mantle already has some rods set within it
