Hi. My mum notices her front door not shutting properly. And a drop in the front porch. See pictures. I'm guessing subsidence. I found a crack (circled at front) and at the ends I can fit my hand underneath the porch so it's lifted from the foundation. (Arrows).
The path step has sunk which I ll plan to build up and do some kind of soakaway after fixing this foundation issue??

Not sure what to do about it. Whether go through home insurance. Or whether this can be easily fixed??? Any advice much appreciated

Steve

Stand back and show us the downpipes and drains

It can't be easily fixed, that's for sure.

First the cause needs to be established and dealt with before you do any repairs. And if the ground won't be or can't be stabilised, then you are probably looking at a rebuild on new foundations.

There are various ground stabilisation systems (injected resin) but its costly and extremely caveated with no actual guarantee of success.

Probably an insurance job
