We need to see a picture of the underside. They'll likely be a nut or similar there that unscrews. You won't get anywhere trying to tackle it from the top

I know when we fitted it 10 years ago it screws into a connector. I just can't recall if the disc moved first. I'm waiting on a new shower screen then I will run a hot water through and see if I can turn it a bit.
