Hi,

Self build getting to the stage of installing some internal stud walls on block and beam floors. My plan is to lay a single row of concrete blocks then build the stud walls off that so it gives a solid base and allows me to get on with building the walls before the screed is in.

Taking one of the walls which will have a double door as an example, this post is really to check my thinking about how to set the door opening sizes correctly.

One door size = 27 inches/ 686mm
Two doors will be 53 inches/ 1371mm
Two legs of door lining around 50-55mm + 5-10mm allowance

Therefore two doors + door lining (with allowance) = 1371 + 60 = 1431mm

Have I missed anything?
Assume I should leave a bit more tolerance for door frame height given I don't know the finished floor levels yet?

Check the dimensions of timber you wish to use are available. Or better still purchase now and be sure .
