How to swap two small rads for one large one?

Hello,
Hope someone can help me out.

I'm looking at replacing two small, rusty pressed steel rads with a single cast iron one that's the right output for the room. One radiator suits the room layout better than two.

Can I use the flow from one of the old rads and the return from the other to supply the new one? Done this way the pipework is in almost exactly the right place and will require minimal board lifting/hole cutting/general disturbance.

Or is this a bad idea?

All input gratefully received.
Cheers
Dan

It's not best practice to have long 'dead legs' on C/H pipes due to a possible risk of legionella and sludge build-up.
There shouldn't be an issue, just as long as you realise there is the possibility, however small!

Great - thanks for the replies. Much appreciated.

It's a two-pipe system and the dead legs could be removed from the F and R pipes and capped.
