I have noticed my pipes going into/ out of my boiler are humming, this seems to be reduced when I tighten the 1 inch grey lagging around it with my hand.
It can sometimes build up to a very annoying droning sound, this is when I just switch the whole system off as it's night time and I dont really need hot water or heating. I then switch it back on in the morning. The humming will persist.
Any quick fixes out there? Is the answer to tighten the lagging around the pipes as I do when I just grip it with my hand? Or do they need to be attached to something properly???
The central heating has been off for a few months now and it is only on for baths etc, which is on a timer twice a day.
