hi, i really hope someone replies to this!! i think i have a NTE5 Bt phone socket in my room. about 7 months ago i moved the main sockets to somewhere a bit more suitable. in order for me to move the whole socket i had to take the wires out and rewire it......which i did successfully.....the only thing is just the other day my 10 months old nieice pulled out the wire and now i'm not sure which colour wire go wheres!!!!

i did ring BT up to ask the simple question - which wire goes where?.....and i was told that they cant tell me and that they'll have to send someone round......i didnt have a problem with that untill i was told there is a call out charge of 190 pounds plus 90 pounds per hour!!!!.....and basically i just cant afford that even though i was told that i shouldnt worry about paying it immediately, but i have until my next bill date.......like that makes a difference!!!!

anyway, i would really appreciate a reply!

just incase i didnt make myself clear, if there is anyone out that could kinda tell me which wire goes where, i would really be greatful.

i have 6 little wires that were divided between 2 screws. ive got three solid coloured wires and 3 striped ( blue, green, orangey/bronzy and white with blue strips, white with green strips, white with bronzy/orangey strips)

so basically i need to know which how the wires are divided between those 2 screws.

normally you would only use one pair, one wire from a pair is solid color the other is white with a tracer in the color of the wire it pairs with.

I would suggest trying each pair one by one until you find the pair that works. Which way round you connect the wires from that pair doesn't really matter.
