Next time I try and tidy chased cables, I'll be sure to double check how it's sat behind the capping.. c:
Plus side, the cable I hit was largely out of the wall so I had plenty left over to rewire it myself.

Its ironic that the principal reason for capping is to protect the cable from the plasterers. Not needed otherwise
