Ideal Boilers - Low pressure switch triggered at 1.5 bars?

I've recently come across a problem where my Ideal boiler's low pressure switch strangely triggers (orange light comes on, boiler shuts down) when the gauge reaches 1.5 bar (?). In order to get the boiler going again, I need to switch the polarity of the wires connected to the switch. This effectively turns the switch into a high pressure one, resulting in the boiler again switching off. I end up doing this quite often, unless of course I keep the pressure below 1.5bar - a little difficult during cold weather where prolonged boiler operation is required.

Do I need to somehow "re-calibrate" the low pressure limit on the switch?

Many thanks for your thoughts

Is this a response?

I would say the gauge is faulty or the capillary pipe to it is blocked, giving a false reading.
