I have an Ideal Classic FF 260 Gas Boiler

From time to time the boiler just will not fire up, then a few hours later it will start again. Sometimes it will not start at all.

Over the past few years this has been an intermittent problem, and through our British Gas Cover we have had replaced the motorised valve, the thermostat, the timer/controller and the fan in an attempt to fix.
Unfortunately again the boiler will not fire up.

I am not sure when this happens, but sometimes the system also gets VERY hot - is it possible to get too hot?

Can you help?

Unfortunately this is one of those faults that you need to be in front of when it happens to fix it.

If the system gets too hot the boiler overheat stat should kick in to protect it.

If this were the case, should this be easily reset with the button on the control panel?
Our reset button does not feel like it is doing anything when you try to press it.
