Can anyone help with some advice? We have an Ideal HE combi boiler, running our ch and hw.
A few weeks ago, it started making a loud bang when it fired up.

It recently stopped working altogether, was showing no ch pressure and error code h9; still banging on start up and showing large fluctuations in ch water pressure when we try to restart.

We topped up the ch pressure and tried to restart again - it is now still banging each time we try and restart and now showing error code L9.

We have previously had problems with the valve that switches between ch and hw - have had it out to regrease at least three times in the three years since the boiler was fitted. This valve looks to be working OK at the moment, though.

Has anyone any idea what could be causing the problem? Any help much appreciated.

Check the pump, its a circulation problem. Also check the heat exchanger for blockage/sludge.
