Ideal Isar

I have an Ideal boiler and all seemed ok with it until recently. At the moment, central heating and hot water are coming through ok but when the boiler is not required to heat (so central heating is off and taps are off) it periodically kicks in and the H3 status appears. Now from reading the forum this suggests something is broken with the thermister which is supported by Ideal, but we have just had a service done (I am a tenant) and I brought this up with the gentleman who came around and he said that this status can occur becuase of the cold weather we are experiencing at the moment.

Just wondered if he was feeding me a line or whether he was been genuine. In fairness the problem did coincide with the cold snap we are currently experiencing and only seems to happen on a night when the temperature has dropped.....but this could be a total coincidence.

My apologies, yes it was posted yesterday but it was tagged on to a thread that was a year old.

At first I didn't think it needed it's own thread because the original poster mentioned the H3 problem. But then I wondered if people would be less likely to read recently bumped 1 year old threads.

h3 is caused by a faulty domestic htw thermister sits inside the plate heat exchanger, why not call ideal for one off repair 210 plus vat bargin!!!

Nothing to do with weather he,was giving you a load of b0ll0x cause he wanted to get away.New DHW thermistor,takes 10 mins.

Cheers for the info, figured he was feeding me a line! Will let landlord know and he can deal with it!
